Gibson guitars announced a new partnership with Kiss icon Gene Simmons that won't be limited to just a signature guitar. In the new partnership, Gibson and Simmons are set out to produce a complete range of electric guitars and bass collections spanning Gibson's various brands like Epiphone and Kramer, with future plans for entertainment content.
The G² - Gene/Gibson - line will be the start of a major collaboration between the Simmons and the legendary guitar brand. The first planned offering is the G² Thunderbird Bass guitar in Ebony with Silver or Blood Red appointments, and later models will include a Flying V guitar and bass. The collaboration will span many names under the Gibson umbrella, so it seems fair to wonder if they will include the recently bought Mesa/Boogie or other brands the company might acquire in the future. Further plans for entertainment content by Gibson and Simmons is soon to be announced.
“I have been designing and trademarking bass guitars for decades, and when I heard Gibson’s vision and learned about their creative process, it just made sense for us to join forces to take things to the next level,”
“Gibson is an outstanding company and has earned its place as a leading guitar brand with fans around the world,"
"These guitars and basses will all be handmade, with a sound that is off the charts. The design is so beautiful and collectible that they are simply works of art.”
