Nightmares On Wax has release a short film to celebrate 25 years of 'Smoker Delight'

Nightmares On Wax, the Trip-hop & Nu Jazz project from British producer George Evelyn, has released a short film to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of his album Smokers Delight, and well, it's a bit of a trip.

Smokers Delight was released in 1995 as the second studio album by Nightmares On Wax and it received good response from critics and Trip-Hop lovers alike. The album peaked at number 84 on the UK album charts, which is pretty good if you consider Trip-Hop is a relatively obscure genre.

Because the album turns 25 this year, Nightmares On Wax decided to re-release the album last April. The 2020 version of the album contains four added bonus tracks, the new tracks ‘Let’s Ascend’ and ‘Aquaself’ alongside an alternative Funk mix of ‘Dreddoverboard’ and the track ‘Nights Introlude’, recorded live at Concord Music Hall in Chicago.

Nightmares On Wax has also released a short movie titled Smokers Delight - The Film, inspired by a dream George Evelyn once had and directed by Jamie Whitby of Agile Films. It follows Tiger, a typical British stoner who finds out he stepped through the doors of perception and is now forced to find his way back to reality, while carrying around a weed plant. The movie is a bit weird and very trippy, but a good way to spend 12 minutes of your time.
